No More Procrastinating, the Chillier Temperatures are Arriving

The chillier temperatures are arriving, even though we have had amazing temperatures this fall...

Home Preparation

  • Seal drafts: Check windows and doors for drafts and use weather stripping or insulation to keep the heat in.
  • Heating system: Ensure your furnace or heating system is serviced and in good working order.
  • Emergency kit: Stock up on flashlights, batteries, blankets, and non-perishable food in case of power outages.

Outdoor Precautions

  • Protect pipes: Drain or insulate exposed pipes to prevent freezing and bursting.
  • Stock up on supplies: Keep a supply of firewood if you have a fireplace or wood stove.
  • Shovel and salt: Have snow removal tools and salt or sand ready for icy paths and driveways.

Vehicles

  • Winterize your car: Check the battery, tires, and antifreeze. Consider snow tires for icy roads.
  • Emergency kit: Include blankets, a shovel, sand or kitty litter, and a first-aid kit.

Be safe and enjoy!
